What drives the price of a custom label

  • Quantity. The biggest lever by far. Press setup is spread across the run, so the per-label price falls steeply as quantity rises.
  • Size, measured by material used. A label is priced by the material it consumes, including the small gap between labels on a roll. A custom die-cut shape is priced by its width and height at the widest points.
  • Material. White film and paper are the most economical. Clear, metallic, holographic and vinyl cost a little more.
  • Format. Roll labels are the most efficient to produce. Sheets cost slightly more, and individually cut stickers more again.
  • Designs. Each design is printed and priced as its own run, so 5,000 labels across five designs costs more than 5,000 of one.
  • Finishes. Foil, embossing and spot UV add to the price per label.

What is not in your price

At TWO Packaging there are no setup fees, no plate charges and no die charges, and the free digital proof is included. A custom die-cut shape costs the same as a standard shape of the same size.

Is shipping included?

Yes. Every price includes delivery to your door, with U.S. import duties included on U.S. orders, so there are no shipping fees at checkout. Choose Standard where it costs less, or Expedited when you need your labels sooner; each shows its delivered price and arrival dates before you order. Designs in one order ship together, so each design’s delivered price drops as you add more. Printing takes as few as 5 business days after you approve your proof (up to 15).

How to lower your cost per label

  1. Order the quantity you will use over several months rather than several small runs.
  2. Choose white film or paper unless a premium stock like holographic adds real value. Custom shapes cost nothing extra.
  3. Choose roll labels if you apply more than a few hundred at a time.
  4. Keep the number of designs per order to the ones you need now.
  5. Reorder the same size and material, so nothing needs to be set up again.

Frequently asked questions

How much do 1,000 custom labels cost?

At TWO Packaging, 1,000 custom 3 x 2 inch roll labels on white gloss film cost about $176, or about 18 cents each, delivered to your door.

Are there setup fees on custom labels?

Not at TWO Packaging. There are no setup, plate or die fees, and a custom die-cut shape costs nothing extra.

Is shipping included in the price of custom labels?

Yes. Every price on the order page includes delivery to your door, so there are no shipping fees at checkout.

Why do die-cut stickers cost more than roll labels?

Each sticker is cut out on its own instead of sitting on a shared roll liner, so stickers cost more per piece than labels on a roll.
